Hello. My name is Angela Johnson. I am an Unangan(Aleut) woman who lives in Nelson Lagoon, AK located on the Aleutian Peninsula. I work for my tribe’s environmental dept. and I also captain my own fishing vessel, the Bad Boy. Nelson Lagoon is an Unangan village that was built in the 1960s. Most of the residents here lived all around the area and moved to this location after the school was built. We are all involved in the commercial salmon fishing industry in this town.
I have lived here for my whole life and I love living here. It’s my favorite place in the world. I hope you enjoy this content.
